Jodie Jenkinson
Jodie Jenkinson is an Associate Professor and the Director of Biomedical Communications at University of Toronto. She is the principal investigator of the Science Visualization Lab, where her research focuses on the role that visual representations play in learning. This includes investigation along various lines of inquiry including the efficacy of visual media within different learning contexts, the design of visual representations for optimal impact, and the development of standards of visual communication in the scientific visualization community.
Susan Keen
Dr. Susan Keen is Director of Introductory Biology for the College of Biological Sciences at the University of California, Davis. She was Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Programs from 2012-2018. One of her interests is the role of animation and other visualizations as educational tools for a diverse set of learners. Interpretation of visual material is an important part of the supplemental instruction offered to under-prepared student populations. Dr. Keen is lead author for two textbooks: Integrated Principles of Zoology and Animal Diversity (McGraw-Hill).
Gaël McGill
Dr. Gaël McGill is Director of Molecular Visualization at the Center for Molecular and Cellular Dynamics at Harvard Medical School where his research and teaching focuses on the design of scientific visualizations. He is also the founder & CEO of Digizyme, Inc. a firm dedicated to the visualization and communication of science and has created numerous educational visualizations for a variety of audiences. Dr. McGill was the co-author and digital director of E.O Wilson’s Life on Earth digital textbook and creator of the Clarafi.com portal and Molecular Maya (mMaya) scientific visualization software.
Amy Zhang
Amy Zhang is a scientifically-minded illustrator passionate about human-centred design. She contributes to visual projects that foster an appreciation and understanding for science as Research Associate in the Science Visualization Lab at the University of Toronto as well as Visualization Specialist in the Public Health Agency of Canada. Amy holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Communications (MScBMC) degree from the University of Toronto.
